Congratulations to the winners of the James H. Beusse Memorial Patent Award presented by Beusse Sanks at the 68th Annual Florida State Science and Engineering Fair! Terry Sanks was pleased to judge the 68th Annual State Science and Engineering Fair of Florida, where two students were recognized for their projects as winners of the Junior and Senior Sections of the James H. Beusse Memorial Patent Award.
The 68th Annual Florida State Science and Engineering Fair was held at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland from April 4-6, 2023. As part of its long-standing commitment to stimulating students, teachers, and the public’s interest in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), the Florida Foundation for Future Scientists (FFFS) hosts the fair each year. More than 900 students competed in the State Science and Engineering Fair of Florida (SSEF) STEM Competition for awards, prizes, scholarships, and internships worth more than $1.2 million.
The following is a list of the James H. Beusse Memorial Patent Award recipients:
Junior Section Winner: Aadi Bhensdadia
The James H. Beusse Memorial Patent Award, Junior Section in the category of Engineering, awarded Aadi Bhensdadia a one-hour patent attorney consultation for his project, “Utilizing 3D Additive Manufacturing to Develop a Biocompatible, Customizable, and Durable Mechanical Aortic Valve.”
Senior Section Winner: Tiffany Gay
The James H. Beusse Memorial Patent Award, Senior Section in the category Intelligent Machines, Robotics, & Systems Software, awarded Tiffany Gay with one provisional patent application for her project, “Designing a Novel LiDAR Navigation System with Haptic Feedback, Bluetooth, and App Integration for the Visually Impaired, Year 11.”
